Based on the popular Citizen University program that Dublin adults know and love, Citizen U Jumpstart is civic engagement designed especially for teens!

Apply today to join City of Dublin staff (and your peers) for a behind the scenes view of your local government. Each day, you will learn about various City operations and services in this immersive, hands-on, week-long experience. From our innovative technology team to the experts who plan and design future community development and the civil engineers who help build it.

Also, learn how our local government is funded and hear from the award-winning team who helps get the message out with massive communication efforts. PLUS, partake in mock-interviews with our HR team, get a tour of the Dublin Police Department and hear directly from staff about their unique pathways to public service.

Please Note: This is a teen civic engagement program. NOT a volunteer opportunity and does not accrue service hours. 

To join Jumpstart, you must be:

- Incoming High School sophomore, junior or senior for the 26/27 school year

- City of Dublin resident and/or Dublin City School District resident

- Able to commit to attending each day of sessions

- APPLY by June 12, 2026

- Attend a group interview on June 17, 2026 @ 1:00 p.m.
