Corner Marshals are an important visual cue and enthusiastic "push" for runners on the 5K course.
· Assigned to a specific spot along the route, Corner Marshals complement Police and City Streets staff to point, direct and encourage runners. At times, vehicular traffic may try to sneak onto the route; Corner Marshals will deflect the vehicle from entering the course, pointing them in the correct direction or informing them how long it will be.
· Some Corner Marshals are assigned as Water Station Attendants. Before the race, a table with hundreds of cups will be at the station. When water is delivered, volunteers need to fill as many cups as possible on the table. Once runners approach, some volunteers may stand with cups in hand to hand off, or runners may grab from the table. Keep the cups pushed toward the edge so runners don't have to expend too much time getting a cup.
· Any questions may be directed to a nearby Police Officer or Streets staff member.
