Upcoming Opportunities From: City of Dublin, Ohio

Kids in kindergarten - fifth grade who live in the City of Dublin or Dublin City School District are invited to join the City of Dublin's Horticulture team in the greenhouse for a spring planting! 

Your help is needed to start seeds for the volunteer-run Interpretive Gardens at Ferris-Wright Park & Earthworks. We'll also learn about the beneficial insects that help keep our plants healthy and assist around the greenhouse. 

Wear closed toe shoes, warm clothing (if it is cold), bring your own water bottle and don't forget your parent or guardian. If you have garden gloves, bring them along and know you might get dirty.

Only children need to register under their own account. If multiple children are participating, please register each one separately. A guardian must accompany the child during this program, but does not need to register. Contact volunteer@dublin.oh.us if you need assistance registering your child. 

Help us monitor water quality along Indian Run Stream!

Volunteers will meet at the Coffman West Shelter (near the restrooms by the tennis courts) for an orientation and training on how to use the monitoring wands and log the data. 

Then groups will be sent out by car, bike or hiking to designated sites along the stream to monitor water in specific locations.

They may also collect a sample of water to be lab tested for hardness. 

By gathering this information, we have a snapshot of the stream health that can be compared to similar blitzes in the past. This information is helpful in identifying problem areas, trends and other stream health data. 

Volunteers should be able to walk off-trail and provide their own transportation, if necessary. 

Volunteers will help with activity stations of outdoor yard games (Giant Jenga, Connect 4, etc.),  crafts area and a giveaway table.

Volunteers must be at least 15 years old or accompanied by a parent/guardian/older sibling.

Volunteers will help with the food service and seating areas to ensure cleanliness. This will include wiping down tables, throwing items away, etc. As well as general event assistance as needed to ensure the event is running smoothly and needs are covered.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Adults preferred.

Volunteers will assist with setting up the game play stations assisting with setting up tables, chairs, etc. 

This will be physical, volunteers must be able to lift at least 25 pounds and be on your feet for the entirety of the two hours.

Assist with participant and volunteer check in by welcoming people in, ensuring waivers are completed, handing out t-shirts, answering general wayfinding questions, etc. 

Ages 16+ Only. 

Volunteers must be customer service focused.

Assist with running the cornhole games; resetting bags, keeping score, ensuring teams are following rules, etc.

Ages 15+ Only. 

Event photographers bring their own cameras to snap action shots, still shots, photos of teams, groups, etc. 

A link will be shared with the volunteer to upload their photos to share with the Dublin Chamber of Commerce.

Volunteers will serve as judges for this virtual baking competition where teams will bake their hearts desire and join for a virtual "bake off" where volunteers will judge the entries based on provided criteria and grading scale.

We need a total of 3 judges so we have an odd number to choose the winning team!

The role here will be to assist the trivia team running the game with checking teams in, going over general game rules, and assisting the team running the game as needed.

Under the direction of event staff, volunteers will assist with setting up and tearing down game play, tables, chairs, game equipment, etc. 

This is a physical role that will require lifting up to 25 pounds and standing for the entirety of the shift.

Assist with participant and volunteer check in by welcoming folks in, ensuring waivers are completed, handing out t-shirts, answering general wayfinding questions, etc. 

Ages 16+ Only. 

Volunteers will assist with checking in participants, ensuring players are following the rules, keeping time records, etc.

Volunteer will assist with getting participants checked in for yoga.

Volunteers will assist with getting teams checked in, ensuring players are following the rules, cheering players on, keeping score, etc.
