MLK Civic Service Series: Project Knit

Knit a hat using very soft yarn and simple patterns; avoid seams and details that might irritate sensitive skin. All sizes are welcome.

Host a knitting party if you'd like! Gather friends and family to knit hats together, helping build community and increase donations to cancer patients. For ideas, click here

Join us for the project completion event: Join us on Sunday, February 8, to hear from an impact speaker, tag hats and help organize donation teams. Volunteers will assist with final stitches. Register here!

Supplies: Choose looms, circular or straight needles. Beginners often prefer looms. Pick a pattern and use extra soft yarn. To get started and pick up yarn, click here

Knitting Support: Find patterns for a Crocheted Chemo Cap,  Solace Cap or Roll Brim Hat. Use your library card to access Creativebug or Hobbies & Craft Source for hat tutorials. (Scroll down on the library's website to see these two resources.) Michaels offers online tutorials. Other Central Ohio shops offer in-person classes, including Sew to Speak and 614 Knit Studio

Community: Join the Dublin Library's bi-monthly "Knitting in the Neighborhood" gathering to connect with local knitters.
